Russia Expands Entry Ban to Include Additional U.S. Journalists, Officials, and Business Leaders

Last year, Moscow issued a new entry ban that included former U.S. President Barack Obama and late-night TV host Stephen Colbert.

Russia's Foreign Ministry has announced that 92 Americans, including journalists, law enforcement officials, and tech leaders, have been added to its list of individuals banned from entering the country.

In a statement released on August 28, the ministry explained that the decision was made in response to the "Russophobic course pursued by the Biden administration," which it claims aims to "inflict a strategic defeat on Moscow."

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the United States, the European Union, and other allies imposed a range of sanctions on Russian businesses and individuals, including billionaire oligarchs and their close family members.

In response, Russia has added new names to its no-entry list, including 11 current and former employees of The Wall Street Journal. The list also features journalists from other major American newspapers, including five from The New York Times and four from The Washington Post.

Man Who Survived Removal of Part of Liver, Lung in Chinese Prison Speaks Out

A man who had a portion of his liver forcibly removed while imprisoned in communist China has come forward after escaping the country, shedding light on Beijing's notorious forced organ harvesting scheme.

    Read

Cheng Peiming, a Falun Gong practitioner who is turning 59 this month, shared his harrowing experience at a press event on August 9. He recounted how, on November 16, 2004, six prison guards restrained him in a hospital in northeastern China, where they forcibly administered anesthesia while he was detained due to his faith.

When Cheng regained consciousness three days later, he found himself shackled to a hospital bed, with one arm receiving intravenous therapy and tubes inserted into his feet, chest, and nose. He experienced persistent coughing and pain and numbness around his left rib.

It was only after fleeing to the United States in 2020 and undergoing medical tests that Cheng’s worst fears were confirmed: part of his liver and a portion of his lung had been removed. During his speech, he revealed a scar approximately 14 inches long on the left side of his chest as evidence.

Cheng continues to suffer from pain in his left arm and ribs, especially on rainy days or when he is fatigued.
